Every young person's first job has a team behind it.

The STEP circle brings together the four people who shape a school leaver's start to working life: the Student, their Teacher, the Employer and the Parent. Choose your role to see how Exemplar Talent Connect works for you.

Help your Year 12 students prove what they can do

Employers can receive 50 to 150 applications for a single entry-level role, and most resumes make the same claims. Exemplar Talent Connect gives your students independently verified skills scores. Employers see those scores under a display name the student controls — never their full name or contact details until an employer makes a job offer — so capability speaks first.

Teachers and career advisers do not need a platform account. Your role is to inform, encourage and point students to the right starting place.

Hire school leavers and job seekers on proven skills

Every candidate on Exemplar Talent Connect has independently verified workplace skills scores. Until 31 December 2026, register free and preview every candidate's display name, suburb, education, verified scores, availability, interests and certifications. When you want to meet someone, request an introduction for $847 including GST, or become a member for a set number of introductions each month. Interviews focus on fit and motivation, because baseline capability is already proven.

How it works

  1. Register free

Register your business. We verify your Australian Business Number (ABN), usually within 24 hours.

  2. Search and filter

Set minimum scores, location, availability and interests. Save searches and get alerts.

  3. Preview for free

See each candidate's display name, suburb, education, verified scores, availability, interests and certifications.

  4. Request an introduction

$847 incl. GST, or included in your membership. The candidate accepts or declines, and you pay only if they accept. You then see their full profile and video, and can message them through the platform.

  5. Offer and hire

Make your job offer through the platform. You then receive the candidate's full name, contact details and resume. The placement fee applies when you hire, less any introduction fee you paid for that candidate.

Help your child start working life from a position of strength

Instead of sending dozens of applications that go unanswered, your child earns verified skills scores, builds one profile, and lets genuine employers come to them. Your child stays in control of every contact, and you can stay involved every step of the way.

How it works for your family

  1. Sit the assessments

Your child completes the online tests at home in a quiet space.

  2. Build the profile

Add a resume, interests, availability and an optional 60-second video.

  3. Receive enquiries

Verified employers make contact. Your child accepts or declines each one.

  4. Interview and start

Interviews focus on fit, because skills are already proven.

Privacy and safety

  • Employers see scores, suburb and a display name only — never your child's full name or contact details until they make a job offer. Anonymous mode shows a candidate number instead.
  • Anonymous mode, a block list and accept or decline on every enquiry
  • All employers are verified businesses, and reports are investigated within 24 hours
  • Profiles and data can be deleted at any time under the Privacy Act 1988
  • Read our Child Safety Policy

How you can help

  • Help with the resume and recording the video introduction
  • Research companies together when enquiries arrive
  • Practise interviews and plan safe travel to them
  • Choose to receive copies of every enquiry your child receives

Common questions

Is Exemplar Talent Connect legitimate?

Yes. It is a product of Exemplar Performance Advantage Pty Ltd, an Australian company established in 1981 with 45 years of performance consulting, workforce development and corporate governance experience. You can check our business registration on the Australian Business Register.

What if my child's scores are not high?

Different roles need different levels, and most entry-level roles need solid rather than exceptional scores. The results also show exactly where to improve, and assessments can be retaken after six months.

Can my child use it while at university?

Yes. Many students use their profile to find better part-time work while studying. Credentials never expire, so they remain useful for full-time job hunting later.

Why pay for assessments when job boards are free?

Free job boards rely on unverified claims. Verified scores give employers proof, which helps your child stand out and be taken seriously.
